It started snowing on my first run, and it didn’t let up the rest of the day.

While the day started off rather cold, by the time I got to Whiteface it really wasn’t too bad.

Today was a gorgeous day in northern New York. The sun was out, and at least where I was skiing, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

I’ve not ridden all the lifts that get thrown into the lineup for coldest chairlift in the East, but I’ve ridden a number of them, and I’d say the Flyer Quad at Jay Peak is the coldest of the lot.

It was a windy day at Whiteface and basically all of the lifts, except maybe the carpets down low, went on wind hold at one time or another.

Between the heavy falling snow, the powder on the ground and the incredibly strong winds, this afternoon was a wild one at Whiteface.
