After a cold and snowy winter, followed by a week or so of spring skiing, classic Ice Coast conditions returned today to the East.

Today was the first real spring-like ski day of the season. There was lots of sunshine, warm temperatures, soft snow and plenty of terrain open.

March is probably the best month to ski Whiteface.

Thanks to last night’s seven inches of snow, conditions were great!

With some snow in the air, I headed to Whiteface after work today to spend a little time in the trees.

For the first time in a while, I skied Whiteface after work today.

Today was my last day skiing at Whiteface for a while.

It was a really nice day for day 70, with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. The views were great today, and the snow was fantastic in most areas.

The mountain picked up several inches of snow overnight, which made for some great skiing!

It started snowing on my first run, and it didn’t let up the rest of the day.

While the day started off rather cold, by the time I got to Whiteface it really wasn’t too bad.

It was a windy day at Whiteface and basically all of the lifts, except maybe the carpets down low, went on wind hold at one time or another.

The snow from this storm was notably very light and fluffy.

Between the heavy falling snow, the powder on the ground and the incredibly strong winds, this afternoon was a wild one at Whiteface.

With the base getting nice and deep, I’ve been playing around in the trees at Whiteface more and more in the last week or so.

And just like that, I’m halfway to the century mark.

This week has been up and down and all around in terms of ski conditions. Today was no different.

With a few inches of fresh snow on the ground, and snow in the air, this afternoon was a treat at Whiteface.

Just two days ago, I had a classic Ice Coast ski day at Whiteface. Conditions were fast and firm everywhere. Sharp edges were a must! Today? Not so much.
