ONE LAST DAY SKIING WHITEFACE
It’s February 13, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and the movie '“Wuthering Heights” came out today. My wife is a big “Wuthering Heights” fan and, as part of our Valentine’s Day weekend plans, we’re going to see the movie in about 30 minutes, so the clock is ticking for me to get this report done. The pressure is on! Here we go:
Lower Skyward.
Glen.
Long story short, I skied Whiteface today after work. It’s my last day skiing there until the last week of February, as my pass is blacked out for 9 days, beginning tomorrow, for President’s Day week. It was a bit busier today than it’s been all week, which isn’t surprising given it’s a holiday weekend. The weather was nice, with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.
Victoria.
Mountain Run.
Lower Parkway.
Upper Skyward.
They had all the lifts spinning, except the Freeway Lift. Most of the mountain was open, though Hoyt’s High, which was open yesterday, and Upper Mackenzie, which was also open yesterday, were closed. I’m not sure why. Conditions were mostly packed powder, though you could definitely find some firm spots here and there, especially on all of the steeper terrain higher up on the mountain, such as Upper Wilderness and Mountain Run. Upper Skyward skied really well today. I got on it twice, and both times the sun was beaming down on it. I’d say it was my run of the day. Upper and Lower Parkway were also a lot of fun.
Lower Mackenzie.
Riding the Face Lift.
Though I am blacked out at Whiteface for 9 days, I'm not blacked out at Jay Peak or Smuggler’s Notch (I have a Bash Badge), and my Ikon Base Pass is only blacked out for two days this weekend, so I will definitely still be skiing. During the week next week, I’ll likely visit some T-Bar hills and who knows what else. I’m looking forward to finding out myself!
Never Quit Skiing,
