THE ICE COAST IS BACK, BABY!
After a cold and snowy winter, followed by a week or so of spring skiing, classic Ice Coast conditions returned today to the East.

Gore doesn’t have the most vertical, that would be Whiteface, but it does have the most skiable terrain (by a lot).

SPRING SKIING AT WHITEFACE
Today was the first real spring-like ski day of the season. There was lots of sunshine, warm temperatures, soft snow and plenty of terrain open.

For the last ski day of February, I took my talents to Beartown Ski Area near Plattsburgh, New York.

With some snow in the air, I headed to Whiteface after work today to spend a little time in the trees.

For the first time in a while, I skied Whiteface after work today.

With a vertical of about 65 ft., this is the smallest vertical ski area I’ve ever skied.

Every time I got on, seeing the empty spot next to me on the T reminded me of my loneliness on this day for lovers.
DAY 70 OF MY SKI SEASON
It was a really nice day for day 70, with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. The views were great today, and the snow was fantastic in most areas.

The mountain picked up several inches of snow overnight, which made for some great skiing!

It started snowing on my first run, and it didn’t let up the rest of the day.

While the day started off rather cold, by the time I got to Whiteface it really wasn’t too bad.
BLUEBIRD DAY AT ONE OF NEW YORK’S BEST T-BAR SKI HILLS
Today was a gorgeous day in northern New York. The sun was out, and at least where I was skiing, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
WIND HOLDS GALORE AT WHITEFACE
It was a windy day at Whiteface and basically all of the lifts, except maybe the carpets down low, went on wind hold at one time or another.
