SKIING IN NORTHERN VERMONT IN LATE APRIL
Day 119 of my ski season saw me head to northern Vermont for some turns on the groomers at Jay Peak.
SKIING FRESHLY MADE SNOW IN APRIL
It may be April 21, but today I skied snow that was made last night. That’s kind of wild, right?
IT WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS AT JAY PEAK…
Jay Peak may be the most wind-prone ski area in the East, and today it flexed that muscle.
SKIING TREES IN VERMONT IN MID-APRIL
Yeah, the base is slowly melting away, and there were some bare spots in the trees, but the skiing was pretty dang good for April 12!
SKIING WHAT I’VE AVOIDED ALL SEASON
For the first time this season, I finally had to ski something I’ve avoided all winter.
FAST AND FIRM DAY IN THE WOODS AT JAY PEAK
Despite knowing that the woods would be fast and firm, I decided to head up there anyways, because April is nearly here, and tree days are now fleeting.
DAY 100 OF MY SKI SEASON
And just like that, I’ve reached the century mark in days skied this season. Where has the time gone?
POWDER DAY AT JAY PEAK
For the fourth time in nine days, I was treated to a powder day. You could say life is pretty dang good.
THE WOODS STILL HAVE THE GOODS AT JAY PEAK
Despite last week’s big melt, coverage is still great in all of the woods, and on the trails, too!
DOES JAY PEAK STILL HAVE THE SNOW?
Over the last couple of days, we’ve started to dip our toes in to spring-like weather here in the East, which begs the question: does Jay Peak still have the snow?!
AN AFTERNOON SKIING THE GLADES AT JAY PEAK
Though I was there for a short time, I checked out a number of glades and they all skied fantastic!
LAPPING ONE OF THE COLDEST SKI LIFTS IN THE EAST
I’ve not ridden all the lifts that get thrown into the lineup for coldest chairlift in the East, but I’ve ridden a number of them, and I’d say the Flyer Quad at Jay Peak is the coldest of the lot.
COLD DAY SKIING GLADES IN VERMONT
It was a fun day in the woods at Jay, albeit a little cold.
A DAY IN THE TREES AT JAY PEAK
It wasn’t a powder day or anything, but conditions were good enough to have a great day, despite the recent rain.
LEGENDARY NOVEMBER SKI DAY AT JAY PEAK
I’m going to be talking about today for years to come.
THE LAST DAY OF THE SKI SEASON IN THE EASTern U.S.
It was a fun closing day at Jay Peak with a great atmosphere to cap off a legendary ski season in the east.
SKIING MASHED POTATOES AT JAY PEAK IN MAY
It was mild and I found myself thinking I probably could’ve just worn shorts instead of ski pants!
SKIING JAY PEAK IN MAY
May is here and that means the ski season is quickly winding down in the East, but there’s still some skiing to go!
